Matthias Dolder (b. 1979 in Chiang Mai, Thailand), currently based in Cali, Colombia, embraces ruptures and confrontations as opportunities to creatively and critically engage with his surroundings, setting ideas in motion.
His artistic journey began with exploring the material and symbolic possibilities of objects within specific cultural contexts. Over time, it evolved to conceptualize the exhibition space as a dynamic stage for participatories experiences by involving the audience. At present, he investigates the role of the artist-teacher and employs contemporary art strategies as pedagogical tools both within and beyond traditional classroom settings.
